TikTok Roundup: All The Latest Cleaning Hacks

If there's one thing we love here at CleanHQ, it's testing out the viral cleaning hacks that take TikTok by storm and we don't just do it for the love of the game, we do it to let you know whether it's worth your time and effort!

We fact-check the latest TikTok cleaning hacks so that you don't have to.

1. Dual Section Spin Mop

Is a mop a cleaning hack? This one certainly is. It makes mopping simple and opens the door to a whole new world of cleaning simplicity. This nifty little cleaning product features a split section to keep the dirty water separate from the clean water so that you're spreading clean water instead of dirty water. It's also got a slick spin to rinse the mop. All you need to do is add the floor cleaning solution of your choice, but we love The Pink Stuff's The Miracle All-Purpose Floor Cleaner.

Sometimes the cleaning hack you're looking for is a cleaning product looking you right in the eye. Remember, you can mop your walls and ceilings, too, which is definitely a cleaning hack to consider.

2. Natural Fragrance

Whether you have smelly pets or messy kids, if you're faced with strong odours you can't get rid of, there are plenty of ways to put them to rest and give your nostrils a break. We love Chantel Mila's Home Tips and her five smell hacks are a must-try. Our personal favourite is adding dish soap and peppermint oil to a microfibre cloth before wiping down windows. Not only does it smell good, but it also helps prevent condensation and mould. It's a hack within a hack and we love a two-pronged hack attack.

3. Crevice Brush

You may have seen the rise of the crevice brush and utilised it a time or two, but do you know how versatile the crevice brush truly is? It's ideal for cleaning window sills, window tracks, door tracks, shower doors and glass curtains, sink drains, and carpet stains! All you need is the crevice brush and the appropriate cleaner for the cleaning job you plan to handle with it, whether it's a Fabulosa day or something for Astonish to handle.

4. WD-40

You might think of it as a tool to lubricate, but some TikTok clean freaks are taking WD-40 down a different route. This TikTok shows it being used to clean tile grout, leather seats, to remove stuck-on gum from surfaces, and to clean window and door tracks. It might be useful for the latter, but it is likely to keep your windows and doors running smoothly. We'd recommend you give this one a swerve, unless you love the smell of WD-40.

5. XL Lint Roller

Whether you have hairy pets or messy roommates, an XL lint roller is a super efficient way to keep your couches clean and you can even use it on your mattresses when you're changing your sheets and on your covers between new sheets day.

There are a million and one ways to clean your house, but whatever path you choose, Clean HQ stocks a wide range of the biggest and best cleaning brands in Australia.
